Revision

Here's a newer revision of the second device. I'm still not sure if the acorn should be flipped so that the nut is down and the leaves are on top. I really like the voided bears, I can't stay away from it.

Bottoms up! ;p

I like it, the bear's are really nice. Have you tried it with the acorn pointing down? I just got an introduction to heraldry book in the mail for a small project I am working on. Did I miss in your few other posts why you chose the bear?

The bear was a default for me when I began doing this. I've had an affinity for bears, and their nature, since I spent a summer working with them in Yosemite Valley. Very profound experience for me. Since then, my wife and son have almost adopted my same feeling for bears. So, having them in my heraldry is just that much more symbolic of my little family.

I'll add the flipped acorn just for fun.

hmmm. Now that I see them, I think I prefer the acorn up one.
I have a brother in law who has a strong affinity for bears, as well. On each day my nephews were born, he's seen one in the wild. (They live in the boonies).

I like the Acorn down...its more natural and seems like the same innocent little acorn that will one day turn into a great tree.

when it's down it looks like meat and two veg...

so I like it up.

Maybe I should take one leaf off...

erm, well. I was thinking the same as Cami, and if you take off a leaf, it will look like meat, and a single veg. . .
